Benefits of Plastic Bags

  • Protection: Poly bags provide product protection against dirt, dust and moisture. They also provide water resistance. Although we do not guarantee them to be leakproof, they are water resistant, making them ideal for keeping items dry during shipment and providing protection against rain.
  • Transparency: Most plastic bags are made of clear material, so item is visible through the bag
  • Durable: Poly bags are durable and solid, making them ideal for protecting products during shipping and storage.
  • Cost Effective: One of the cheapest packaging solutions are plastic bags. They cost pennies per bag and are much cheaper than containers, paper packaging etc.
  • How to seal a poly bag:

There are many ways you can seal a poly bag, here are some of the most popular methods of sealing an open ended plastic bag:

  • Heat Seal: Using an impulse heat sealer you can seal the bag creating an airtight seal. Heat sealers melt the plastic edges together for a strong professional seal. This also renders the bag tamper evident and it is clear when the bag has been ripped or cut open.
  • Bag tape: Tape sealers machines use tape to close the bag. They offer a quick and easy closure, but the seal may not be as strong or airtight as a heat seal
  • Staples: Bags are sometimes stapled shut, this is more commonly used when adding a cardboard header indicating what is packed inside the bag and then being stapled to the bag to seal and shut it.
  • Knotting: Bags are sometimes knotted closed. This is more common in retail stores such as fish stores, nut and candy shops, and jewelry stores, after packing the product inside they will knot it shut to keep the item secure within
  • Heat Sealing Instructions:

Our bags are heat sealable and easy to seal with an impulse sealer. Please follow the following guidelines from sealing temperatures based on bag thickness:

Temperature should be set between 230-250 degrees Fahrenheit and hold for .2-1.2 seconds, with a pressure of 300-350 PSI
