Our Bubble Reclosable Bags are designed for those who want an easy want to package fragile items with added cushioning and protection against impact, moisture, abrasion and dust during transport. Bubble wrap bags are an added level of protection during transit, however the items still need to be handled with care. The bubbles have regularly spaced protruding air-filled hemispheres which function as a cushioning agent for sensitive and easily breakable objects.
Our three-mil bubble wrap ziplock bags aid in protecting delicate items with heavy-duty bubbles between two layers of thick polyethylene. Bag Construction
Smartly constructed from durable polyethylene which is both lightweight and tear-resistant. Featuring a smooth interior and exterior, these bubble zip locking bags have a layer of 3/16" bubble plastic between two layers of 3Mil LDPE film. This way it is easy to slide your product into the bag, without getting caught in the bubble, and keeping a smooth outer appearance as well. Each layer of film is 3 mil thick, totaling 6 mil in thickness on each side of the bag excluding the bubble. Now that is what we call heavy duty protection!
Being that the bubble is manually inserted from the bottom of the bag, these bubble bags are not only side welded but bottom welded as well. Once the bubble sheet is inserted these bags are then heat sealed shut, hence leaving a skirt of plastic beneath them known as a bag tail.

The air in the bubbles takes up a lot of space so these bags are packed in very big boxes which requires them to ship dimensional weight.
What is dimensional weight?
It is a calculation to determine a package's billable weight based on the size and space it takes up, not just its actual weight. This is also known as volumetric weight. It is a way for carriers to account for the cost of transporting large, lightweight packages, which take up more space on their trucks. Being that these bags are filled with air and weigh very little, and at the same time take up lots of space, shipping costs will be calculated based on the box size instead of the weight.
